The Boulder County Railway Historical Society was formed in 1997 to assist
the City of Boulder in the restoration of three pieces of narrow gauge railroad
equipment displayed in Central Park. The Society's larger purpose is to preserve
and educate the public about the history of railroads in Boulder County.

This photo shows a crowd gathered around the remains of the old Union Pacific
depot, at 10th and Pearl in Boulder. The depot was destroyed on August 10, 1907
when a Colorado & Northwestern boxcar, spotted alongside the depot and
loaded with dynamite, was set on fire. The results can be seen in the
photo as crews work to clean up the mess
